Re: Films for 2016
I've seen some bad films over the years but few compare in shyness to NWR's The Neon Demon. I loved the Pusher trilogy, Bronson, Drive and the Mads Mickelson film he made but this latest film is shocking. almost as if he's taking the piss now, especially after the similarly poor Only God Forgives

avoid The Neon Demon like the plague

The 1958 film entitled DUNKIRK might tide you over till June

John Mills Richard Attenborough and every other face from British cinema of that era!

Looks like Nolans is going to be an epic!

Recent watches.... Inferno.... wasn't bad... very Dante influenced.... remake of Ben Hur.... again wasn't bad... the Galley sea battle was excellent and the iconic Chariot race was superb... made up for all the other turkey(ish) bits...

Alien Covenant looks like a teen slasher flick.( Hope I'm wrong. But Ridley. Stop pissing on your legacy. And let Neill Blomkamp make the squeal the fans really want.)

If 2016 was a good year for films then 2017 is going to be equally as entertaining

Apart from those coming out soon like
Assassins Creed and Silence some biggies are due out later in the year

Alien Covenant;
Billy lynns long half time walk;
Fences;
Kong skull Island;
Guy Ritchie's new take on the King Arthur tale
Dunkirk
Life

I could go on and apologies to anyone whose miffed cos I've misssed off the SMURFS OR 50 shades lighter

There a good preview on sky Cinema fronted by Alex Zane if you're interested

Son of Saul - so you don't believe a movie could add to your understanding of what the holocaust was like to experience. Well believe me this does, a superb movie

Oldboy remake was an abomination.

Original is a stone cold modern classic.

Re: Films for 2016
If you liked the new Old Boy and get to watch the original, try and dig out Lady Vengeance by the same director!

Part of a revenge trilogy but I can't remember what the third ones called.
